poetry marathon: the 30/30 project

30/30 Project:  Starting on August 1, I have committed to writing a poem a day for the month.  This 30/30 project is run by Tupelo Press and gives the participants an opportunity to generate new work within a small community of approx. nine poets.  It’s also a fundraiser because the participants also commit to raising a certain sum of money for the project, preferably through donations from sponsors (our friends, relatives, fellow poets, warm bodies!).

Seriously, this is a big challenge for me and I decided to take it on in August because my university’s at a low ebb (our classes don’t begin again until Sept. 24) and I had already planned to devote more time than usual to writing poetry.  Now, I’ll have structure and support as well.  Wish me luck!  And if any of you out there are willing to throw a couple of $ my way, wait until after Aug. 1 and go to the site to donate.  Thanks.
