The Joy of Singing

Yesterday was the big production at Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco.  Hector Berlioz’ Requiem–200 singers, 100 orchestra members, huge gathering.  What fun!

There’s something about being part of a larger group all trying to achieve the same objective that’s completely energizing.  Unlike the solitary path of writing, singing in a choir brings people together.  I love the contrast of these two art forms.

Yesterday was the culmination of a summer of practice, filling our lungs with air, and making beautiful sound.  Now that’s it done, I am back at work for the week and then gone for a week of writing, as per my last post.

I can’t wait!
